Welcome back my little witches and warlocks. It may only be September, but that means Halloween is right around the corner. What does that mean? That means, it’s time to start decorating. This year, I thought that it would be fun to see how many decorations I could get for a dollar a piece. Most of this haul if from Dollar Tree. However, there are a couple of things from Walmart and Target, as well.

Keep in mind, that this is just the beginning. With that said, let’s look at the first twelve things that I’ve picked up, so far.

Pumpkins Galore

Obviously, one of the most common Halloween decorations seen at stores, are the pumpkins. And what kind of Spooky lover would I be if I didn’t pick up any pumpkins? Well, here’s the difficult part. When you go to dollar tree, or anywhere else, a lot of the pumpkins end up falling under fall decor rather than Halloween decor. But fret not, there are some plain pumpkins that you can buy for a dollar and I was able to find a cute black sparkly, light up pumpkin. For the plain pumpkins, I did a little DIY (stay tuned for a DIY Halloween Decor) so that they fit in a little bit better.

As you can tell, the first photo is from my plain pumpkins. The second picture is after a DIY of the pumpkins and the third is the sparkly, light up pumpkin. All of these items are from Dollar Tree and I have to say that I am quite pleased with them!

Skulls

It wouldn’t be Spooky season without a little skull action. So far, I have only picked up one skull. This skull is also black and sparkly and it’s eyes light up and change colors. I fully intend on going back and getting more skulls because Dollar Tree actually had quite a few options.

Hanging Signs

Okay, I didn’t know what I was going to be able to find for a dollar, when it came to signs. However, I was thoroughly impressed. From the Dollar Tree, I got a sign that says ‘Beware’ and one that says ‘Happy Halloween, Witches, Beware, Spooky, Boo, Creepy, haunted.’ Then, there’s also some cute signs at Target in their dollar section, the one that I picked up says ‘Eat, Drink and be Spooky.’

Overall, I would say that I did pretty well. There are also a few DIY signs throughout my apartment, I will include those in a Halloween DIY post.

Halloween Extras

There were a few other things that I picked up to place around the apartment, as well. The dollar store had these cute little baskets to hold candy, fruit, or whatever you want. It’s made to look like a spider web and it was only a dollar, so of course it’s something you have to get. Then at Walmart they had 98 cent coozies, so I got one that says ‘Drink up Witches’ and ‘Let’s Get smashed.’ Finally, the last thing that I snagged at the dollar tree was some black gauze to hang over our breakfast bar. I will attach some photos below of the coozies and a sneak peak at our breakfast bar.

At the end of this haul, I only spent about twelve dollars. I’d have to say that’s pretty great. It’s not everyday that you get twelve different things for one dollar each. If you’re on a budget or just don’t feel like spending a ton of money on Halloween decor, then I highly suggest checking out Dollar Tree an Target’s dollar section. Plus, it’s a lot of fun to see how cheap you can get things.
