Hey everyone, so it is officially detox diet day 3 and I have already noticed a few different things. Now, maybe it’s the placebo effect and nothings actually happening. . . or maybe it is. I probably won’t know for sure until I’m a week or two into the darn thing. However, I thought that it would be fun to share some of the changes that I’ve noticed and the things that I have been eating/ doing.

What my diet has consisted of:

My diet has been actually been pretty normal. On Friday, I woke up, drank my coffee, then I had a smoothie for breakfast which consisted of only blueberries, bananas, greens and almond milk. Later in that day I snacked on some dry fruit and almonds and then for dinner I had a salad with greens, peppers, tomatoes, cucumber and chicken.

Saturday, I woke up and my routine was pretty much the same. I made a smoothie but this time I had strawberries instead of blueberries. Later in the day I snack on some fruit and carrots and for dinner I had another salad and some homemade tomato soup. Don’t worry though, the soup was literally made with just tomatoes, garlic, onions, bay leaves, some natural seasonings and a tiny bit of almond milk.

Now, on detox diet day 3, I woke up, had my coffee and then instead of a smoothie, I opted for an apple with cinnamon. Later on I munched on some almonds and veggies. Then, for dinner I had a poke bowl, with rice, carrots, cucumber, avocado, peppers, and salmon.

The nice thing about this detox diet is that it doesn’t keep me from eating, it just keeps me from eating processed foods, starches and dairy. So it’s cleaning out my body in a natural and healthy way. Now let’s move on to some things that I’ve noticed, so far.

It hasn’t been that hard

Let me tell you, I thought that this was going to be the hardest thing in the world for me. Maybe this had to do with my addiction to pizza and the occasional rum and coke. And, maybe it hasn’t been that hard because it’s only detox diet day 3. Either way though, I haven’t had an issue with it at all. I realized how much I already eat that falls under this healthy category.

I’ve noticed that when I have thought about pizza, I’ve thought ahhh that looks good, but I haven’t actually wanted it. . . if that makes sense. For the most part I think that it hasn’t been hard because I know that i’m not depriving myself of anything. In three weeks, if I want to have pizza I can have pizza. It’s not like i’m saying to anything forever. Although, I will say that at this point it might be pretty easy to make this a complete lifestyle change.

I’m not as hungry

You read that right, I am not as hungry as I was before I started this detox. The first day, I felt like I was starving because I normally eat so many carbs. However, the 2nd and 3rd days I noticed that I have been eating less now that I’m not putting a bunch of bad foods in my body. My body is sustaining itself longer and it’s been giving me more energy.

Before I started this detox, I would eat a lot of heavy food and then I would be exhausted and not want to do anything. It didn’t help that i’m lactose intolerant. The last couple of days I haven’t felt like I needed to take a nap. And, I’ve had more energy and motivation to do stuff throughout the day and for I’ve been in a better mood.

No more bloating

So, if you’ve ever experienced lactose intolerance you may have noticed that you bloat. Now, you don’t just bloat, you bloat super bad. I mean so bad that it is painful. On the first day I noticed some bloat. However, on detox day 3, I realized that the bloating was completely gone. I can fully see my abs coming in again, and I couldn’t be happier.

When you decide to cut out food that you’re sensitive to, it gives your body a chance to relax. But, if you do a detox diet a long with that you can give your body a whole fresh start. And let me tell you, it feels great not to bloat anymore.

Overall, I am aware that it is only detox day 3, but this is something that everyone should try. It’s important for you to give your body a fighting chance. So, rid it of the toxins and junk that you put in it everyday. You might also find that you have some food sensitivities that you weren’t aware of. There are many more benefits to doing detox cleanses than what I’ve just named, such as: clear skin, better mental health, clearer mind, metabolism boosts and much more.

Try it out, give your body a chance to make you feel good. What do you have to lose?

Love, Victoria
